Team History

The Desert Dawgs fielded some very strong teams in their early years and even won the New Mexico Football Alliance Championship in 2009. In recent years, they've struggled and haven't broken .500 since 2011. However, with a roster full of active and retired military, the Desert Dawgs are always a tough opponent capable of pulling an upset. Prior to the 2017, the team was called the Alamogordo Desert Dawgs but changed from Alamogordo to Otero to represent the whole county instead of just one city.
